About Kazakh Oil Refinery Plant (KazNPZ)

Kazakh Oil Refinery Plant — known throughout the industry as KazNPZ — is an oil refining enterprise based in Aktau, the capital city of Mangystau Region in western Kazakhstan. Aktau is more than just a Caspian port city; it is the nucleus of Kazakhstan’s western energy belt, surrounded by decades of oil production history and home to some of the region’s most important hydrocarbon infrastructure.

KazNPZ was established to serve the growing demand for locally refined petroleum products in Kazakhstan, reducing the country’s historic dependence on imported refined goods from neighbouring Russia and Uzbekistan. Our facility is designed to process heavy crude oil produced in the Mangystau region and convert it into marketable petroleum outputs including road-grade bitumen, fuel oils, and intermediate distillate fractions.
